Why Cut Aloe Vera for Planting?
There are times when you are forced to cut your Aloe Vera specially if you’re planting Aloe Vera in containers. Aloe Vera grow tall and if they are containerized, they will be dehydrated. Also, Aloe Vera are shallow rooted, When they grow tall in containers, they fall easily because the spread of their roots are limited by the container.

For some reasons, Aloe Vera rots. They rot so fast. If you don’t act quickly, your Aloe Vera dies in less than a day. To save the rotting Aloe Vera, you have to cut the stem up to the part where it is still healthy, or partially rotten. Let the cut Aloe Vera dry for at least a week.

Pulling Aloe Vera pups from the mother plant sometimes don’t go smoothly. Young Aloe Vera easily breaks. Sometimes we use too much force that breaks the stem while pulling the Aloe Vera Pups.

How To Plant Aloe Vera Cutting
During wet season, make sure that you dry your Aloe Vera first for about a week. Otherwise, you can plant directly the cut Aloe Vera by just simply placing them on top of the soil. You don’t have to bury the stem. Just make sure that the plant has support to make it stand and not fall.

For small Aloe Vera pups that were accidentally broken when you pulled them, you can either place them on the other potted plants. Don’t bury them. Just put them on top of the soil and wait for it to root. When they do, you can transfer them to a container. You can also plant them directly if you have available pots and soil. Similarly, just put them on top of the soil and make sure it has support to make it stand.

For the rotting Aloe Aloe Vera, sometimes it will take more than a week for the rotten stem to dry. Wait until it becomes hard and dry and then follow the manner of planting above.
